Prison Population
Returning citizens and youth offenders preparing to reenter society with structure, confidence, and a financial foundation that lasts.

501(c)(3) Non-Profit · Est. 2015
We help returning citizens, the homeless, and foster-care youth break the cycles of poverty and incarceration through business, financial, and employment training.
(01)What Is FLTA
FLTA is a non-profit transforming lives through financial literacy, credit building, employment training, and business education. We serve what we call the Big 3, the prison population, homeless individuals, and foster-care youth, equipping them with real-world tools to break cycles of poverty, incarceration, and financial instability.
From workshops inside California prisons to youth employment programs across Los Angeles County, we help people achieve lasting financial freedom and independence.
(02)Who We Serve
Returning citizens and youth offenders preparing to reenter society with structure, confidence, and a financial foundation that lasts.
Homeless prevention through financial wellness, emotional intelligence, budgeting, and job-search strategy to help people get and stay housed.
Foster, system-impacted, and transition-age youth, building financial literacy and job readiness long before the pressures of adulthood arrive.
(03)Designing Futures
A trauma-informed program delivered inside California state prisons and youth facilities, built to reduce recidivism and homelessness by addressing the root cause: financial instability.
Participants learn to identify the financial triggers that often lead to relapse, while building credit as a pathway to stable housing and employment, reentering society with confidence, structure, and a real plan.
(04)The Power Of Lived Experience
FLTA directors bring firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by the three populations we serve. We've lived these struggles, and we use that experience to inspire and empower others.
By leading by example, our team shows participants that change is possible. We connect deeply, build trust quickly, and prove every day that education, understanding, and resilience can rewrite a life.
Our Mission
To reduce the financial triggers that lead to incarceration, homelessness, and mental barriers, and empower every generation to reshape unhealthy money habits for a successful future.
(05)Where We Serve
We deliver financial reentry, workforce readiness, and youth employment programs across correctional facilities, juvenile institutions, college campuses, and community housing.
